Camping Season Countdown…..

Here in the Northeast, the camping season goes into full swing Memorial Day Weekend, which is only 3 weeks away! This means cookouts with the friends, s’mores around a cozy campfire & the buzz of happy campers in the air. You’ve been waiting for this since the end of last year’s camping season.

There’s just a few things you need to do before you get your camper set up on site.

1. Start Making Plans. Especially for a holiday weekend, make reservations at your favorite campground a few weeks in advance to ensure there will be room for you when you arrive.
2. Check your campers running gear. Your camper has been parked all winter long. Those brakes and bearings probably haven’t moved since October, so a service is recommended.
3. Is your camper Inspected? A good way to confirm all of your lights and safety equipment are in working order is to have a New York State Safety Inspection completed. An inspection covers your lights, tires, & brakes. Not to mention, it’s the law!
4. Relax & Go Camping!!

The Dreaded D.O.T. Stop…..

If you are familiar with towing a trailer, you are probably likely to have experienced a D.O.T. Safety Checkpoint.
There are a lot of things that can make these stops run a little more smoothly. You would be surprised to know how many people don’t realize their trailer needs to be inspected every year. That is going to be one of the 1st things they check during a DOT stop, and if you don’t have a valid NYS Inspection Certificate, it can set off red flags for them to look into everything.
There are certain things you are required to carry such as, safety triangles, fire extinguisher & first aid kit, for starters. Before you get to that checkpoint, stop by Trailer King and get your DOT Compliance kit instead of getting a ticket!

Peek around the corner……

And you’ll see MAY!! Finally, does this mean we can say goodbye to the April showers? It’s been a really wet and gloomy week, but the sun is finally out and we know our landscapers are out in full force.

The beginning of the spring season can be quite hectic for you landscapers. Towing all of your equipment to job sites, unloading and re-loading it over and over again each day, it can get overwhelming. There is a way to make this monotonous chore a little less complicated. Rack ‘Em!!

Rack ‘Em is a time saving solution, and the less time you use loading and unloading, the more time you have to get the job done! Call today and see how we can help you get that cluttered trailer of yours organized, safe & clean!

April Showers…..

Bring mud, puddles and dampness… on a positive note, they also bring flowers, green grass, blooming trees and landscape season, which we love!! This time of year brings out some of our favorite customers…. the landscapers. They know who to trust to keep their equipment running smooth on the job, 100%!! And that’s TRAILER KING, come see why the pros trust us most!

Oh, the things people hang from their hitches….

We have all been behind “that guy” with the “stuff” hanging from his ball mount. I will refrain from posting a picture of an example, but we all know what I’m talking about. There are a lot of funny hitch covers and accessories out there. Like these, which are not inappropriate, so I can show you.

Needless to say, there’s a lot more that you can do with your hitch besides towing. If you’re looking for hitch accessories or even a silly hitch cover, we’re your guys! Let us know what you’re looking for and we will do our best to find it!!

Image Traveling this year? Keep your family safe this season.

With every new spring and summer season that comes, travel is usually a must for most of us. Traveling can be a stressful enough experience on it’s own. Kids fighting in the back seat, traffic, etc.

And now this!! A flat tire, a seized bearing, or worse…..

This could have most likely been prevented if you had Trailer King service your trailer before your trip. An axle and brake service and NYS Safety Inspection can ensure your trailer is road trip ready!

And while you’re here, it’s probably a good idea to get a spare tire. You know what they say… if you have one, you won’t need one!!

The “S” Word……

What a March it has been…. with weather making it feel more like January, it’s hard to tell which “S” word might come to mind. With record snow falls last week for most of our area, it almost seemed like the “S” word we’ve all been waiting for was never going to come… SPRING!! Instead we all had to dig ourselves out of the other “S” word, the SNOW… Nevertheless, today it is the first day of Spring, and though it may not look that way when you look out your window, I saw a little sign this weekend that proves Spring is not too far away. A robin in the snow.

When we think Spring at Trailer King, we think Landscapers!! So to all of our landscaper friends and customers, you know where to purchase your new trailer for the upcoming season, or to have that trailer you already use… serviced to ensure it will keep you going through the season.
Don’t forget about our .99 cent NYS Trailer Inspections. We now sell WELLS CARGO trailers, and offer 100% financing.

Nor’easter headed our way????

Hey guys!! Don’t put that shovel and snowplow away just yet. A winter storm warning has been issued for the Hudson Valley as the snow storm targets New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

The alerts are in effect from late night Monday, mainly after 1am and will continue to around midnight Tuesday night, according to the National Weather Service. We should expect at least 5 inches by 10am Tuesday. And before it’s all said and done we will have a significant amount of snow on the ground. Lucky for all of you snowplowers, Trailer King will be here to help those of you that have an unfortunate snowplow emergency get back on the road. (M-F 8-5/Sat 8-3) We hope you all stay safe and warm during the storm and remember spring is right around the corner!
